We take our social and environmental
responsibilities seriously
It’s at the core of everything we do. This conviction has given rise to our six pillars of sustainability, which bring us closer, step by step, to our vision of sustainable, people-based business practices. We adhere to international standards and industry-specific requirements and set clear guidelines to consistently implement ecological, social, and economic responsibility.
Safety, health, and longevity are our top priorities in everything we do. That's why we not only subject our products to internal quality controls—they are also rigorously tested by independent testing institutes. Many of them are certified according to environmental, social, or product safety standards such as GOTS, FSC™ (C195630), or OEKO-TEX®.
Ethical and ecological aspects also play a central role. Our diaper bags, school bags, and many textiles are vegan – meaning they are completely free of animal-based components. This not only prevents animal suffering, but also reduces our ecological footprint through the careful selection of materials.
For us, this also means greater transparency and recyclability along the supply chain. That is why we increasingly rely on certifications such as GRS or RCS for textiles and stainless steel products – for products with a proven recycled content and responsible use of resources.
ERGONOMICALLY SAFE
The physical health of children is particularly important to us. That is why we have our school bags and bathing shoes tested by the Institute for Health and Ergonomics (IGR e.V.). This ensures that our school bags are easy on the back and promote natural posture, while our bathing shoes provide optimal support for children's feet in everyday life and when playing.
PROTECTION FOR SENSITIVE CHILDREN'S SKIN
Our swimwear is tested according to the strict UV STANDARD 801 of the renowned Hohenstein Institute. The label confirms that our UV protective clothing reliably protects children's sensitive skin from harmful sun rays, even under everyday conditions such as wetness, stretching, and use.
Details on certificates and tested properties can be found in the product descriptions.
RESOURCE-CONSERVING MATERIALS
We prefer to use bio-based, recycled, and pollutant-tested materials to minimize our environmental impact as much as possible. Moreover, we are constantly seeking innovative materials and sustainable manufacturing processes that enable us to wisely expand our range of sustainable products.

SUSTAINABILITY AS
A CORPORATE STRATEGY
For us, sustainable action is not an add-on, but the core of our daily work. That is why we develop our products with heart, respect, and attitude – and make a difference.
In 2022, we signed the Sustainability Charter, an economic initiative launched by the State of Hesse. By doing so, we commit ourselves to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations and align our business activities especially with Goals 8, 9, 12 and 17. We see ourselves as a multiplier for the values of the Charter and regularly demonstrate this commitment with an initiative for the Hessian Sustainability Day.
Our ongoing efforts to strengthen our environmental and sustainability management were formally recognized in 2023 with DIN EN ISO 14001 certification, independently confirmed by TÜV SÜD.
We rely on long-term, trusting partnerships with carefully selected producers and suppliers. Together, we further develop products and tackle challenges on an equal footing. In doing so, we we place great emphasis on compliance with ecological and social standards.
Our Compliance Guide, which is signed by all production partners, forms the basis of our cooperation. It commits all partners to complying with international environmental and social standards, including human rights, occupational health and safety, the prohibition of forced labor, and lawful business practices. With this responsibility, we make our supply chains transparent, value-driven, and sustainable.

Together with Raddis® Cotton, we are committed to sustainable and regenerative cotton farming methods in Southeast India. By participating in the Raddis® system, we contribute not only to positive ecological impacts on the ecosystem, but also – through direct cooperation with cotton farmers—to improving local living conditions.
Fair & sustainable from day one:
Reduced water consumption, as Raddis® crops are only fed by rain
Increasing biodiversity, using organic fertilizers and natural seeds
Reducing CO2 emissions and carbon sequestration in the soil
Doubling the income of small farmers through higher premiums and lower cultivation costs
This membership connects us with a network of like-minded companies and organizations. Together with BNW e.V., we aim to promote innovation, make conscious choices, and shape a sustainable future – for you and your family, for us and future generations.
Midwives make an invaluable contribution to the health and safety of pregnant women, birthing mothers, and young families. However, conditions in Germany have been challenging for years, making everyday working life difficult for many midwives. This is why we have supported the German Midwives Association for many years. By participating in midwifery congresses – which focus on exchange, training, and networking – we actively support midwives in their important work.

Since 2022, we have been actively involved in shaping Hessian Sustainability Day. Our creative competition encourages families and children to engage with the topic of sustainability. On this special day, the competition receives a prominent platform. Together with the mayor, participating schools from the city of Babenhausen, and representatives from the Hessian Ministry of Environment, we bring the topic directly into classrooms.

Fewer emissions. Greater impact.
We have been measuring our corporate carbon footprint since 2021 and have initially offset it through climate protection projects. Today, we are taking this a step further: we are focusing on genuine emissions avoidance – along the entire supply chain. Together with experts, we analyze our carbon footprint according to international standards and develop concrete measures for reduction.
In addition to continuously reducing our energy consumption, we focus on using renewable energy sources. We consistently rely on green electricity and eco-friendly gas, already sourcing 90% of our energy needs from sustainable origins.
By optimizing delivery routes and collaborating with partners who promote sustainable logistics, we actively work to reduce our CO₂ emissions.
We ship our products climate-neutrally with DHL GoGreen.
A healthy forest is at the heart of an intact ecosystem. It provides clean air, protects the climate and wildlife, and ensures quality of life for people. That’s why we actively support the protection and care of trees in Germany in cooperation with the German Forest Protection Association (SDW). Since 2012, the sale of our charity shopper TREE has helped plant over 30,000 trees across the country.

With our nationwide Children’s Creative Competition, we give children a voice and offer them an opportunity to express their vision of a better world through art.
In 2025, the competition will take place for the fourth time. Once again, we look forward to many inspiring submissions from children.
The mayor of the city of Babenhausen, representatives of our partner social organizations (link to Engagement page) and the Hessian Ministry of the Environment are permanent members of our jury. The children’s contributions never fail to impress us.
