SWITCH CHILDREN’S PROJECT
“Strangers are friends we don’t know yet.”
The About Friends children’s collection from LASSIG is all about making friends: The main themes of this collection are friendship, open-mindedness and international solidarity – for friendship knows no boundaries.
Through the About Friends collection, LÄSSIG supports the Switch children's project which is coordinated by Kulturbrücke Hamburg e.V. The project is dedicated to promoting intercultural exchange and communication between families of different origins and to fostering tolerance and appreciation of cultural differences.
The projects allow children from many different nations to learn more about one another's worlds and cultures through creative activities. In the Switch Kids project, the children are sent on a four-day trip around the world. In groups of four, children of different origins take turns to spend one day with one of the four families. The Switch Kids Art project, which features a program of joint activities, was created for families who are unable to accommodate the children at home. All projects are based on the motto “Strangers are friends we don’t know yet!".
